UF Williamson Hall — Exhaust Fan Replacement & AHU Consolidation

Plume fan replacement on generator power, validated by a 30-day load study, plus consolidation of two AHUs.

Project overview

Variable frequency drives serving building fans

Progresíve replaced all exhaust fans at Williamson Hall — including three large plume fans — in compliance with UF construction standards. Fans were relocated to backup generator power, and a 30-day load study confirmed the generator had capacity for the added load. Site surveys traced panels and breakers to correct mislabeled existing systems.

In a separate project, two air handling units serving an auditorium and lab spaces were consolidated into one, connected to existing chilled water and steam piping and controlled through VAV boxes.

Highlights

  • 30-day load study for generator capacity
  • Three plume exhaust fans on standby power
  • AHU consolidation with VAV control
