About us

Principal-led. Locally rooted. Built on trust.

Founded by University of Florida and Santa Fe College alumni whose collaboration spans more than a decade — engineering a cleaner future for the communities we call home.

Our history

From classmates to a principal-led firm.

Progresíve Engineering was founded by University of Florida and Santa Fe College alumni whose collaboration spans more than a decade. What began as academic teamwork grew into a long-standing partnership built on trust, shared growth, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

After gaining experience across multiple industries — MEP consulting, medical equipment and hospital infrastructure during the COVID-19 pandemic, and more — the founders reunited with a clear goal: build an engineering firm that balances disciplined execution with genuine respect for people and the environment.

We take our work seriously, but our day-to-day culture is grounded in transparency, collaboration, and laughter along the way. We believe strong relationships build great engineering, and that belief continues to shape how we serve our clients and support one another.

Principal-led, start to finish

The people you meet are the people who do the work. Our principal engineer stays involved from kickoff and field verification through construction administration and closeout.

Specialists for every discipline

For large mechanical and plumbing renovations, we team with Lebo Engineering — a fellow Gainesville firm we have collaborated with for nearly a decade — so every discipline is led by a specialist with clear, centralized accountability.

Portrait of Reid Gill

Reid Gill

Program Manager - Research & Development

Applying tech industry methodologies to enhance Progresíve's processes and technology.

Reid is excited to help drive the research and development of Progresíve's program management. During a seven-year span as a program manager at Microsoft, Reid drove projects in Xbox, Surface, and HoloLens across teams, countries, and people. He was thankful to work alongside talented engineers on projects such as manufacturing lifecycle tracking and Microsoft's supply chain sustainability initiative.

He earned his engineering degree in Computer Science at the University of Florida, in the same city he, and Progresíve Engineering, now call home. He appreciates Gainesville, FL for its diverse inhabitants, local culture, and rich nature. He firmly believes Progresíve's mission to help engineer a cleaner future, as Florida, and the rest of world, have incredible opportunity to preserve it's beautiful nature and wildlife for generations to come.

Outside of work, Reid enjoys wildlife photography, board games, and exploring all around! He appreciates the journey no matter where it takes him, be it the local frog pond or the ancient city of Lanxi, China, where his wife Xiaotai is from!

The Progresíve Engineering crest: a Machu Picchu–inspired mountain over solar panels and forest

    Our mark

    The crest

Our crest reflects the foundation of Progresíve Engineering. The blue and green palette represents the Earth and our commitment to responsible design and environmental stewardship. The forest and renewable elements symbolize our goal of reducing environmental impact through sustainable engineering.

Inspired by Machu Picchu in Perú, the mountain silhouette honors our founder’s Peruvian heritage and the legacy of Incan engineering ingenuity — intentional solar alignment, advanced aqueducts, and environmental integration that have endured for centuries. That same mindset guides how we approach engineering today.
