Project overview
Terwilliger Elementary serves as a community shelter during severe weather, yet it repeatedly lost power to critical systems — including kitchen operations — when transferring from generator back to utility. The failures had already cost thousands of dollars in spoiled food. The system had been designed and installed by others.
Progresíve installed Fluke monitoring equipment to capture real transfer events, then performed power system modeling and time-current coordination analysis. The root cause was improper coordination between upstream and downstream protective devices amplified by motor inrush on transfer. Corrective settings restored selectivity and eliminated the nuisance tripping.
